Skroutz & marketplaces
Skroutz, Google, Amazon: one catalogue, seen on every shelf.
Skroutz, Google and Amazon read the same catalogue by different rules: for titles, photographs, EAN codes and availability. Here are the rules as the platforms themselves publish them, the most common reasons for rejection, and how to keep stock and orders in agreement.

Three shop windows, three ways to sell.
Skroutz, Google and Amazon look alike, but they sell in different ways. On one, the customer comes to your shop; on another, they buy without ever seeing it. The choice changes who keeps the customer, who ships the parcel and how you are charged.
Skroutz has two models. In price comparison, the visitor clicks your product and lands in your shop. In Skroutz Marketplace, the purchase happens on Skroutz: you receive the order, accept it and ship it, or hand it to Skroutz's warehouses through Fulfilled by Skroutz.
Google shows your products from Merchant Center, free in its listings and paid in Shopping ads, and sends the customer to your shop. Amazon has no Greek store; one European seller account reaches ten, from Amazon.de to Amazon.it.
Skroutz price comparison
The customer is sent to your shop. You pay per visit; the sale and the customer stay with you.
Skroutz Marketplace
The purchase happens on Skroutz. You accept each order within 6 to 12 working hours and pay a commission per sale.
BestPrice
Price comparison with an XML much like Skroutz's and a charge per visit. It also offers purchase on the platform.
Google Shopping
Free listings and ads from the same Merchant Center data. The purchase happens in your shop.
Amazon in Europe
One account for ten stores, shipped by you or from Amazon's warehouses.
Fulfilled by Skroutz
You send stock to Skroutz's warehouses, which pack and ship Marketplace orders on your behalf.
Before a customer sees you,a machine reads you.
No platform sees your shop the way a customer does. It reads a file, the feed: an XML for Skroutz and BestPrice, the Merchant Center data for Google, the listings in your account for Amazon. Whatever is missing or disagrees there hides the product.
And they check. Skroutz downloads the XML, the photographs and a sample of your pages for quality control. Google visits the product page and compares price and availability with the feed. Amazon matches the product to its catalogue by its EAN.
Price or availability that differs from the shop
Google spots it when it visits the page and rejects the product until the two agree.
Photographs with a logo, text or borders
None of the three accepts them. Amazon also wants a pure white background in the main photograph.
A missing or wrong EAN
Skroutz requires it in every category, Google rejects an invalid one, Amazon wants an EAN from GS1.
Titles with offers, or too long
No shipping, warranty or offers in the title. Up to 150 characters for Google, up to 75 for Amazon.
A code that changed product
On Skroutz, if the same code (the Unique ID) starts describing another product, the product is disabled.
A feed that is not refreshed
Skroutz judges from its creation date whether a file is stale. A cached XML must be rewritten at least once a day.
One product record,three shelves.
Edit the record of the Emporio cup and see what Skroutz, Google and Amazon check before they show it. The rules are the published ones; the data is illustrative.

Once it sells,it leaves every shelf.
The most expensive mistake on marketplaces is selling something you do not have. On Skroutz the order is rejected and counts against your performance, on Amazon the cancellation counts in your account's metrics, on Google the product is rejected. That is why stock has to arrive in minutes, not once a day.
The platforms provide the tools. Skroutz takes the whole catalogue as XML and price and quantity changes at once, through its Products API. Marketplace orders arrive automatically and are answered through the API, and so are returns. The point is for all of it to end up in the same system as your shop.
And one rule applies everywhere: since 13 December 2024, the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) requires every online sale in the EU to show the manufacturer, the responsible person in the EU, the product's identification and its safety warnings.
Stock in real time
A change in your shop or ERP reaches every platform within minutes.
Orders in one system
Skroutz Marketplace orders enter your shop or ERP with their receipt and courier voucher, like all the others.
Returns that restock
The return is recorded, the product goes back into stock and the credit note is issued correctly.
Prices that agree
The price in the feed is the price on the page, VAT included, for everyone. Otherwise Google rejects the product and Skroutz does not accept it.
Safety information
Manufacturer, responsible person in the EU and warnings in every listing, as the GPSR requires.
Documents
Every Marketplace sale needs a receipt or an invoice from your own system. Invoices to businesses are now issued electronically.
What changed,and what is changing.
13 Dec 2024
The GPSR applies: manufacturer and safety details in every online offer of a product in the EU.
27 Jul 2026
Amazon: titles of up to 75 characters, with a new 125-character field for the key features.
1 Oct 2026
Invoices to businesses, including those for marketplace sales, are issued only electronically in Greece.

Before you uploadthe first feed.
In this order, because each step rests on the one before.
01
Give every product and every variant a code that never changes, together with an EAN and a manufacturer part number (MPN).
02
Write titles that fit everywhere: manufacturer, product and key feature within the first 75 characters.
03
Photograph each product once on a pure white background, above 1,000 px, with no logos. Photographs in a setting go in as secondary images.
04
Map your delivery times to each platform's availability values, and keep the same prices as your shop.
05
Connect stock so it updates on every platform within minutes, not once a day.
06
Bring the platforms' orders and returns into the same system as your shop, with their documents.
07
Check each platform's diagnostics every week: rejections, warnings, late orders.
You keep one catalogue. We lift it onto every shelf.
We do not sell on your behalf. We set up the catalogue, the feeds and the connections, so the same product appears correctly on every platform and the stock tells the truth everywhere.
A clean catalogue
Codes, EANs, categories, variants and titles, so one record passes the rules of all three.
XML for Skroutz and BestPrice
A file that updates itself and is checked against each platform's specification before it is sent.
Google Merchant Center
Account, shipping and returns, feed, and fixing rejections, for free listings and ads.
Amazon in Europe
Listings with the right EAN, 75-character titles and photographs that meet Amazon's requirements.
Stock and prices in sync
Every change in your shop or ERP reaches every platform within minutes.
Orders and returns in one system
Orders from Skroutz Marketplace and the other channels enter your shop or ERP, with their document and voucher.
You register as a Skroutz partner and provide an XML of your products, following Skroutz's specification. Skroutz downloads the file regularly, together with the photographs and a sample of pages for quality control, and classifies the products. You choose whether customers come to your shop or buy through Skroutz Marketplace.
In price comparison the visitor clicks the product and lands in your shop, where they complete the purchase; you pay per visit. In Marketplace the purchase happens on Skroutz: you receive the order, accept it and ship it; you pay a commission per sale, with an annual subscription and no charge per visit.
The most common reasons: a price or availability that disagrees with the shop's page, an invalid or missing GTIN, photographs with text, a logo or borders, and missing shipping details, which are mandatory in Greece. Merchant Center shows the reason for each product separately.
Free listings are: Merchant Center products can appear at no charge in the Shopping tab, in Search, in Images and elsewhere. Shopping ads are paid and use the same data. In neither case is appearing guaranteed.
Yes. There is no Greek Amazon store, but one European seller account reaches ten stores, such as Amazon.de, Amazon.it, Amazon.fr and Amazon.es. You need EANs from GS1 or an approved exemption, listings in each market's language and, for Germany, packaging registered with the LUCID register.
Skroutz asks that a cached feed is regenerated at least once a day. For stock and prices, once a day is too little: whatever sells in your shop in the morning keeps selling on the platforms until the evening. That is why we connect stock in real time, for example through Skroutz's Products API.
On Skroutz, yes: the EAN is required in every category. Google wants it when the manufacturer has assigned a GTIN; for handmade goods, brand and MPN are enough. Amazon asks for an EAN from GS1 or an approved GTIN exemption, per brand and category.
